Big Tobi und Weinachtliches

Hallo zusammen,

so, heute muss ich mal nachholen, was ich die letzten Wochen versäumt habe, und mal wieder berichten, was es denn so Neues bei Tobi & Me gibt. Die neusten Neuigkeiten sind, dass ich mittlerweile 28 Tobis verkauft habe. Woohoo! 

Und ich wurde beauftragt einen Big Tobi zu machen. Auf Kundenwunsch wird es sehr bald einen Tobi geben der 50 cm groß ist! Seine Arme, Ohren und Füße sind schon fast fertig und sie sind rießig-kuschelig! Mehr zu diesem Sonder-Tobi darf ich leider noch nicht verraten, aber ich hoffe sehr dass ich das bald nachholen kann. Ein Foto, wenn er fertig ist, werde ich euch aber nicht vorenthalten ;)

Hi there,

so today I have to make up, what I've missed the last few weeks, and report what happened at Tobi & Me. The latest news is that I've now sold 28 Tobis. Woohoo!

And I was commissioned to make a Big Tobi. On customer request, there will soon be a 50 cm Tobi! His arms, ears and feet are almost finished and they are big and cuddly! Unfortunately I can not tell more about this special Tobi, yet, but I hope that I can do that very soon. But I'll definitely show you you a pic once he's done!

Die Vorbereitung für dieses Projekt war auch sehr spannend, denn wir mussten ja nicht nur seinen Körper größer machen, sondern auch sein Gesicht. Das schwierigste waren dabei natürlich die Augen, denn um sie abgießen zu können, brauchten wir erst mal eine Vorlage. Rapid Prototyping hat's möglich gemacht und so wurden bereits die ersten "Big Eyes" gegossen und sehen hammer aus! Bin schon so gespannt auf den fertigen Tobi! Natürlich bekommt auch er eine Stickerei auf seinen Fuß. Die ist gerade auch noch in Arbeit. 

Gestern ist dann erst mal meine Mega-Stofflieferung aus England angekommen! Jetzt habe ich genug Stoff für ca. 120 Tobis! Wow! Fühlt sich gut an :D hahaha

The preparation for this project was very exciting as well, because there was not only his body to be made bigger, but also his face. The hardest part was the eyes, of course, because in order to be able to produce them, we needed a template. Rapid prototyping has made it possible, and so the first "Big Eyes" are already done and they look amazing! I'm so looking forward to the finished Tobi! Of course he also gets a piece of embroidery on his foot. That's just still a work in progress.

Yesterday, my mega fabric delivery arrived from the UK! Now I have enough material for approximately 120 Tobi! Wow! Feels good: D hahaha

Alles in allem kann man also sagen es läuft sehr gut und das freut mich natürlich. Hoffe auch, dass es so weiter geht, denn ich hab schon wieder viele neue Ideen für Tobi & Me.

All in all I can say it runs very well and of course I hope that it continues like this, because I've got many new ideas for Tobi & Me.

Countdown läuft

So nur noch zwei Tage, dann sollen die Ersten Tobis im DaWanda-Shop sein, aber bis dahin gibt es noch viel zu tun. Ich hatte ja fast gedacht, dass ich es gar nicht mehr schaffe, denn als ich letzte Woche die Tobi-Stickerei in Auftrag gegeben hatte, war die Dame eigentlich bis oben hin voll mit Aufträgen... Umso überraschter war ich, als die Logos dann am Samstag bei mir im Postkasten waren. Und sie sehen einfach super toll aus!

Only two days left until the first Tobis will be in the shop. But there is still  so much to do. I really thought, I can't make it, because when I gave the order for Tobi's foot embroidery last week, the lady was actually super busy with other orders... I was even more surprised when  I found the logos in my mail box on Saturday. And they just look super great!

 

Nun läuft also bis Mittwoch die Produktion auf Hochtouren. Aber mit der Unterstützung meines Mannes, der mit mir fleißig Teile ausschneidet und Augen klebt, krieg ich das schon hin. Bin gespannt, bei wem dann Tobi 001 landet.

So now the production is in full swing until Wednesday. But with the support of my husband, cutting out parts and glueing eyes, I'm sure i can make it. I'm curious where Tobi 001 will end up.

Schau mir in die Augen...

Hier eine Kleine Übersicht von ein paar Tobi-Einzelteilen, die nur darauf warten zusammen gebastelt zu werden. Von seinen Augen bin ich total begeistert. Mein Mann hat sie aus Resin gegossen und das hat er wirklich toll gemacht!

Im Moment arbeite ich immer noch an dem Design-Auftrag, also muss Tobi leider noch etwas warten... 

Here is a little overview of all the single parts of Tobi, which are ready to be put together. His eyes are my favourites. My husband made them out of resin and I have to say he did a really great job!

Currently I'm working on another comission, so Tobi has to wait a little longer...
